FingerTech 9.6V 4A UBEC The FingerTech 9.6V 4A UBEC is a compact switching regulator that steps down any 3S–6S LiPo to a stable 9.6V at up to 4A — purpose-matched for 9V-rated servos like the FingerTech 9V digital servo. If you’re running a higher-voltage battery for your drive system but need regulated 9V for your servo, this UBEC fills that gap. This UBEC is for 9V-rated servos only — do not use it for receiver power or standard 4.8–6.8V servos. For receiver power, use the FingerTech 5V 4A UBEC instead. Switching Regulator — Not Linear This is a switching regulator, not a linear one. Linear regulators burn off excess voltage as heat — inefficient and bulky. This UBEC converts the excess efficiently, running cooler and drawing less from your battery. At 6.3g it adds almost nothing to your build, and 4A of output is enough to run up to three FH-5515MG metal gear servos simultaneously. Wiring It Up UBEC Input: Connect the UBEC’s input wires (IN and IN−) to your battery after your power switch. Servo Power Wire: Pull the servo’s center red wire out of its connector and connect it to the UBEC’s OUT wire. Servo Signal Wire: Plug the servo’s signal wire (white or orange) into the appropriate receiver channel. Ground Connections: Connect the UBEC’s ground wire (black) to one of the receiver’s ground terminals. Ensure the servo’s ground wire (black or brown) is also connected to the receiver’s ground terminal. Receiver Power: Your receiver still needs a separate 5V supply — use the FingerTech 5V UBEC or ensure your ESCs supply a 5V return line. Your drive motors run at full battery voltage, the receiver gets its 5V, and the servo runs at its optimal 9V. Use terminal blocks to keep multiple connections clean. Sold individually. Includes a 20cm (7.9in) servo wire.
